Beavers - End of 2004/2005 Season
It's been a while since I've put anything here but I've been busy.
We ended the season with 2 camps in June: the Odawa camp and the Family camp at Lac Philippe.
Both camps were fun and the temperatures were very hot. Let me talk a little bit about both camps:
Odawa - June 10th-12th
This camp was held at the Voyageur Provincial Park near Hawkesburry. This camp is an annual Odawa area camp. Beaver, Cub and Scout sections from various groups in the Odawa district were present. My guess is that there was probably between 200-300 people there.
This year's theme was the "Voyageurs". The Beavers made crafts, went for a nature walk, traded beaver pelts for other goods. Because of the heat a lot of the activities were canceled too bad.
I think the highlight of the weekend (for the kids at least) were the interminable water gun fights which cooled them (and some leaders/parents) off (except the few who took offense at being sprayed with 10ml of water ... sigh...)

Lac Philippe Family Camp - June 24th-26th
The Beavers were originally going to go to Camp JJ for our family camp but we changed our minds at the last minute and gratefully accepted the Cub's offer of joining them at Lac Philippe.
I'm offering my thanks to the Cubs again for letting us join them. We had tons of fun. We hiked 3km (one way only) to the Lusk Caves and back. We had time for the beach.
The cubs went canoeing on Sunday but we opted to stay back. We were lucky (or unlucky) to have bear walk through our camp on Sunday morning.
I'll be posting some pics soon (keep checking our website's photos)
Well, have a great summer and we'll see you all in the fall.

PS: I will be with Cubs next year so my name will change ...
