Beavers - Year End ... almost

That's it That's All Folks ... well almost. Thurday night meetings are done now. Last week marked the end of regular meetings at the BBQ on Friday.

We still have the Odawa Area camp coming up next weekend. We also have a family camp the weekend of June 25th.

I think the year has been quite successful and most of all I think the kids had fun. We've done crafts (clay pots decorations, easter eggs, flowers, etc..). We did lot's of sleepovers : Museum of Science and Tech (white tails only), the museum of Aviation, Charette Farm, Cosmic Adventure and two more camps coming up. We also did a nature hike, played various games, visited the Rockland firehall, went tubing... (I'm sure I'm forgetting something)

I'd like to thank everyone who participated at the fundraisers and charity work. There was Apple Day, Popcorn, Chocolate Bars, Rockland Clean-up, Tucker House clean-up and the Flea Market (again, probably forgetting some..)

Thanks to all parents who donated pop cans. We raised approx. $220.00 . Not bad considering I was aiming for $150.00.

The Rockland Scouts website was inaugurated in February. I think we will let parents know next year that if possible they should check the website often. Parents, if you miss a meeting it is up to you to give a leader a call and/or check the website for info on up and coming activities. Not sure if this Blog is even read so my message might fall into deaf ears.

Anyways, I plan to post a few more comments about our up-coming camps.

take care.

Rusty.
