Beavers - Firehall

Wow, I was impressed. The volunteer firefighters of Clarence-Rockland really did a good job tonight.

They showed a video about fire safety in the home. Afterwards the kids had a chance to see them dress up and have a "mock" water rescue. The beavers had plenty of time to look around sit in the trucks and ask questions.

The guys were really thorough with their talks about safety yet they made if fun for the kids.

Really well done.

Beavers - Fun Day at CampJJ

Last Sunday we had an outing at CampJJ. We did not have as good of a turnout because of the weather. The ones that did show up had tons of fun.

The kids did some trench digging, general "horsing around" and some tobogganing before lunch. This was an "informal" fun day where the kids could be kids. The hill was really fast and fun so most of them wanted to go again after lunch. Some kids opted for a hike instead of sliding.

We were supposed to stay until 2pm but some of us stayed until about 4pm because it was so much fun. Thanks for those who came and those who helped.

1st Post to our weblog

Welcome to the 1st Rockland Scouting Group "BLOG". What is a BLOG you may ask ? Well it's actually a "Web Log" or a web based log book.

This will be a place where members of the group can comment on current, past and future activities, post some pics, etc... The goal is to have a place where we can talk about our activities in more details.

This BLOG will not (or should not ??) contain detailed info like what to bring for a camp or dates and times to watch for. Please look at the group's website and calendar for that type of info. http://www.1strocklandscouts.ca

Anyhow, this is a work in progress, therefore the objectives might change over time. This is a start.
